Plan in action. Love that theme for 2017. So much to learn and grow into. Which I'm in the midst of right now. This weekend we had a big snowstorm, which in my part of the world is rare. We got between and 8 and 9 inches in my neighborhood, the largest snowfall in a single storm that I've experienced since I moved here 13 years ago. And for a native Los Angelena, I'm still learning a lot about living in a winter snowstorm. So while I enjoyed my snow days, it changed my plans, and I quickly lost my...
Last night, as I was reflecting on the transition from 2016 to 2017, I decided on this year's theme for myself. I've been choosing themes instead of resolutions for a few years, but this year, I realized that I'm now ready to put more of myself into the world by sharing. I want my theme to be "official-like" in case it inspires my readers and clients. So, here ya go: 2017: The Year of the Plan in Action Here's why I've chosen this focus: It's time to get moving. Exercise. Diet. House cleaning. You name it. I want to move...
Yep, 2017 is finally here. For the past several months, I've been hearing and reading comments by people that 2016 was "the worst", "terrible", and "heartbreaking". I don't discount the fact that 2016 brought us a lot of unwanted change, be it in the election results or the loss of beloved celebrity figures, such as Alan Rickman, Leonard Cohen or Carrie Fisher. But, I can't get on the bandwagon that it was wholly awful. I saw the ordination of a friend to the priesthood. My friend's brain surgery was successful. My dear friends in Texas had a beautiful baby girl....
I can't help but notice all the chaos and change in our world. The US Presidential Election. Mothers dying, completing their lives. Wildfires in Western North Carolina sending smoke nearly 200 miles away. First Responders with flashing lights and reflective jackets in the middle of the road. Chaos and change. It's unmistakable. It's front and center. Yet, we keep living. And living is more peaceful and easier with support. I had a client session today that reminded me of how important it is to have professional support. She and I have been working together for one year on her goals, and her...
Here I am. Back in the saddle. It has taken me most of 2016 to come to an understanding of what I really do in my business and what I really want from my business. It might seem to some that I'm constantly changing, giving the appearance of a lack of commitment or talking a lot of fluff for fluff's sake. But that's not the truth. The truth is I only recently figured it out. People are strange, as Jim Morrison pointed out so long ago, and I'm no exception. I tried this and then I tried that, but nothing...
